Francis Howell Central is a high school in St. Charles County, MO. It is the third high school created in the Francis Howell School District. The school is located in Cottleville, MO but a large part of its student population comes from its larger neighbor St. Peters. Home of the Spartans, Francis Howell Central is a four-year comprehensive high school offering programs in college preparatory, vocational, honors/advanced credit, advanced placement, and a special education program.
Francis Howell Central opened in the fall of 1997. The school's first principal was Don Muench (1997-2001). The first Athletic Director was Terry Kasper (1997-2010). Currently, Howell Central has an enrollment that hovers around 2,000 students who compete in the large school Class 5 division. Howell Central is a part of the Gateway Athletic Conference South Division (GAC South) which consists of six schools: Francis Howell Vikings, Holt Indians, Timberland Wolves, Troy Trojans, and the Fort Zumwalt West Jaguars.
